2013 x200 Tyre Jack is Stuck Cannot Remove

Postby Koula » Fri May 13, 2016 2:57 pm

This is pretty silly, I can't get the jack out. I rotated the screw counter clockwise, it's fully down, like any other jack in any other vehicle. The jack has never been removed. There's a metal swing-bar around it that holds it in, only it's too narrow. This is absurd, removing a jack has never been rocket science with any other vehicle.

Any tips to get it out without getting out the cutoff saw?

remove the whole jack holder, the two 10mm bolts at the front.
Then what I did was attack the jack with an angle grinder.
I beveled off the top of the side shoulders(where the swing bar hits it), this will let the jack move up higher and over the two 10mm bolts.
You dont need to remove much.
have the jack holder mounted back in the car, then you can test as you go. If it fits back in easily then it will come out easily.

But really it should not need to be modified in the first place, hey but we get what we pay for LOL.
